About these cheetah coloring pages

A cheetah is a colouring gift: a long lean body covered in hundreds of separate round spots, plus two dark tear lines running down the face. Every one of those spots is a small closed shape. The easy pages keep the body simple and the spots large, with thick outlines and plenty of room.

The rest of the set runs. A full sprint with the legs stretched front and back, a cub tumbling in the grass, a mother watching from a termite mound, a stalk through dry stems and a whole savanna at dusk. Detailed and realistic pages draw the fur and every spot separately. Every page prints free on US Letter or A4 as a PDF or a PNG.

Coloring tips and activities

  • Colour the coat first and add the spots afterwards in a much darker tone. If you outline every spot first the page takes twice as long.
  • Keep the two tear lines on the face the darkest marks on the whole page — they are what makes a cheetah a cheetah rather than a leopard.
  • Leave the chest and the underside almost white. Big cats are pale underneath, and it stops the body looking flat.
  • On the sprint pages, leave the dust and the grass pale so the animal stays the subject.

Frequently asked questions

Are these cheetah coloring pages free to print?
Yes — every page is free for personal and classroom use. Print at US Letter or A4 size, or download the PDF or PNG.
What is on the pages?
Standing and sprinting cheetahs, cubs, portraits, spot patterns, savanna scenes and detailed realistic studies, in easy and detailed styles.
How is a cheetah different from a leopard?
A cheetah has solid round spots and two dark tear lines running from the eyes to the mouth. A leopard has rosettes and no tear lines. These pages draw the cheetah markings.
