About these superman coloring pages

Superman is a silhouette almost everybody can recognise: a standing figure, a long cape and a shield on the chest. The easy pages give a young child exactly that — standing tall, one fist raised, the shield on its own — with thick outlines and big open shapes.

The detailed pages take him up. A flight over a city skyline, a landing that cracks the street, a falling beam caught one handed, a fortress of ice and a burst through a brick wall. Cape folds, muscle contours and full city backgrounds give older colorers plenty to work through. Every page prints free on US Letter or A4 as a PDF or a PNG.

Coloring tips and activities

  • Give the cape one bold shade and the suit another, and leave a white line between them. The cape then reads as a separate layer.
  • Colour the shield emblem last and make it the strongest thing on the page — that is where the eye goes.
  • Follow the fold lines on the cape rather than colouring straight across, and the fabric will look like it is moving.
  • On the flight pages, leave the sky pale. A dark sky flattens the whole figure.
