About these shoe coloring pages
A shoe is a closed shape with a lot going on inside it: panels, laces, eyelets, stitching and a sole. That makes it a very satisfying thing to colour, because the design work is already there waiting. The easy pages start plain — one sneaker, one boot, one sandal — with thick outlines and wide open panels.
The rest of the set widens out. A pair of laced boots, a rack of shoes in a hallway, a stack of boxes, roller skates, wellingtons in a puddle and a cobbler's bench. Detailed pages draw every eyelet, stitch and tread block, and the pattern pages turn a single sneaker into a canvas. Every page prints free on US Letter or A4 as a PDF or a PNG.
Coloring tips and activities
- Colour the sole in one shade and the upper in another, and leave a white line between them — the shoe instantly looks built rather than drawn.
- Follow the laces as one continuous ribbon from eyelet to eyelet. It looks wrong if you colour them in sections.
- Give each panel of a sneaker its own shade. That is exactly how real sneakers are designed.
- On the tread pages, leave every other block white. A fully filled tread turns into a solid blob.
