About these coco coloring pages
Coco is one of the richest coloring subjects there is, because the whole design language is pattern: cut paper banners, marigold petals, decorated skulls and a guitar covered in inlay. The easy pages take one motif at a time — a guitar, a single marigold, a skull, a candle — with thick outlines and open shapes.
The detailed pages let the pattern run. Papel picado strung across a street, an ofrenda stacked with photographs and flowers, a bridge of marigold petals, a plaza at night and a glowing alebrije covered in swirls. Every page prints free on US Letter or A4 as a PDF or a PNG.
Coloring tips and activities
- Colour the marigolds in two or three close tones rather than one. A wall of identical flowers loses all its depth.
- Leave the cut paper banners almost white and colour only the border strip. The cut pattern is the point, and filling it hides it.
- On the sugar skull pages, keep the skull itself white and put every colour into the decoration.
- Give the guitar body one shade and pick out the inlay in a much darker one, so the pattern sits on top.
