About these ballerina coloring pages
A ballerina is a line and a circle: one long body and one round tutu. That is why these pages work so well at every level. The easy set gives a young child a standing dancer, a pair of pointe shoes, a single tutu and a tiara, all with thick outlines and big open shapes.
The rest of the set moves. An arabesque held on one leg, a pirouette mid turn, a lift, a rehearsal at the barre and a full stage with curtains and footlights. Detailed pages work fine tulle layers, ribbon lacing and beaded bodices into the costumes. Every page prints free on US Letter or A4 as a PDF or a PNG.
Coloring tips and activities
- Colour the bodice darker than the skirt. That one contrast makes the whole figure look like it is wearing a costume.
- Leave the tulle skirt almost white and colour only the layer edges — a solid skirt loses all its lightness.
- Follow the ribbon on the pointe shoes as one continuous line up the ankle, and it looks properly tied.
- On the stage pages, keep the floor pale and the curtains dark. The dancer then reads instantly.
